A guide to help you think of homecoming poster ideas

Are you wondering what you need to put on your homecoming poster? Do you need ideas to guide you through the process of asking someone to HOCO? If so, this is your Homecoming Poster 101 guide, a helpful guide to show you what students look for in their homecoming posters.

Freshman boys may struggle with homecoming poster ideas as it is their first time.

Freshman Thomas Hatfild says, “For my poster, I would like for it to look nice. I also do not want to put any cringey phrases or sayings in my poster.”

To assist and give advice to first year students or even upperclassmen, Sophomore Reagan Baker says, “I mostly look forward to my poster having movie related or funny phrases, but if my date thought through the poster, that’s enough for me!”

Sophomore Libby Araman agrees and says, “I would like to have puns on my poster, but same with Reagan, overall the most important thing to me is if my date thought it through.”

The main point our students look for is the thought and meaning behind their poster, and how much time and effort went in the process.

Sophomore Cruz Banuelas suggests, “Personally I would firstly think about putting the little things she likes on the poster. Anything that is important to her would be a start to a good homecoming poster idea.”

Although everyone has different opinions on what they want on their poster, overall all you need to do is put meaning and time behind the poster. No matter what style or theme, if there is thought within your homecoming poster, that is all you need.
