Meet the Tennis Captains – Alexis Wilson and Ava Allen

Meet the Varsity Girls Tennis Captains

What age were you when you started this sport?
Alexis – I was 7 years old.
Ava – I was 6 years old.

How many hours a week do you practice?
Alexis – I practice around 7 hours a week.
Ava – 7 hours a week on average.

Name one thing you are working to improve right now?
Alexis – I am working to improve my slice.
Ava – I am working to improve my serve.

Pre-game ritual?
Alexis – Nothing special, just warming up for the upcoming game.
Ava – I like to listen to hype music before games.

How would your teammates describe you?
Alexis – My teammates would describe me as compassionate.
Ava – They would describe me as tenacious.

Who is your role model, and why?
Alexis – My mom because of her work ethic, it inspires me to have a good work ethic as well.
Ava – Both of my parents are my role models, they both equally work hard in what they do and encourage me no matter what.

What is the hardest thing about your sport?
Alexis – Staying mentally strong.
Ava- Not letting mind games get into my head.

Name something that stresses you out?
Alexis – Capstone stresses me out so much this year.
Ava – Tennis matches tend to stress me out the most.

Name a recent accomplishment you are proud of, and why?
Alexis – My college acceptances for sure.
Ava- My spiritual growth with God.

Before I graduate, I want to ________, and why?
Alexis – I would love to do another internship before graduation.
Ava- I want to be more consistent in reading my Bible.

Name one thing about yourself that most people don’t know?
Alexis – I am very funny and have a strong sense of humor.
Ava – I played basketball for 12 years.
