Game To Shine

A Night For Our Special Needs Friend’s Play Basketball Players To Shine Bright
Game+To+Shine

Basketball is a great sport to play, and to watch. It is an exhilarating dance of skill and teamwork, where every dribble and shot is a thrilling expression of athleticism and teamwork. The fast-paced rhythm, strategic plays, and the joy of sinking a perfect basket make it an incredibly fun and dynamic sport to play.

St. Timothy’s Christian Academy is a school for kids with learning disabilities. Special needs kids often face challenges fitting into societal norms. Misunderstandings and lack of accommodation can isolate them, making it harder to connect. Through STCA, the students are offered love and knowledge with some pretty special teachers. Thankfully, PCA tries their best to include our special friends through fine arts and athletics. Some of the St. Timothy students play instruments in the band, and others participate in the Special Friends basketball game.

These students shine the brightest lights and we cannot wait to celebrate and cheer them on.

Each year, many of the high school students, as well as parents from both teams enjoy supporting the game. The drumline will also be there, encouraging the players with their cadences and sick beats.

Sophomore Blake Roberts said, “I like going to the special friends basketball game, it’s fun watching the game and playing my drums at the same time.”

Seventh Grade Student Camden Gulley said, “I’m excited to play for the basketball team, especially since we get to use our marching instruments again.”

This year the game will be on Monday, February 5th. Come to the field house to support and cheer on the Varsity Basketball team, as well as our special friends of St. Timothy’s Christian academy. Basketball, whether participating or spectating, is always a fun sport to take part in.
