Behind the Scenes: Fall Play

Getting Down To The Final Details of the Fall Play, 12 Angry Jurors.
Behind+the+Scenes%3A+Fall+Play

With the first showing just a couple of weeks away, there is so much to do to ensure everything is set to perfection. Countless hours of practice and memorization from the staff and cast to ensure everything will be the best it can be for the audience, without hesitation.

The set which includes the props and background paneling is simply uniquely amazing. The amount of time that went into painting the likeness of a courtroom, and the colorful city skyline view out the windows is phenomenal.

Junior Ashlyn Hardy said, “I really like the sets this year. The set was well painted, and looks really pretty. Although it is a simple show, the detail was still put into the set; the windows and doors can open and close, which I think is super cool. It’s a very creative, well thought out design.”

Paired with the amazing props, there is also an incredibly written script the audience can enjoy. Every cast member had a great time rehearsing their lines in time for the big weekend of performances. and between the lines, there are actions, gestures, and facial expressions that go along with the actors’ voices, all in an effort to bring the stage to life and have the audience become an honorary member of the jury. With the showtimes just around the corner, there are always pros and cons of the approaching deadline.

Ashlyn said, “In rehearsals, it’s okay to make mistakes. We’re still putting the show together, it’s a safe place to learn from your mistakes and perfect your role.”

If you wish to listen in as the court comes to their verdicts, purchase tickets on the PCA Box Office, which can be found under the Arts tab on the Prestonwood Christian Academy website.

Show times are Thursday, November 2 @ 7:30 p.m., Friday, November 3 @ 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, November 4 @ 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
