Love for Our Grandparents

Students and Staff Celebrate Grandparents Day

Grandparent’s Day is the day everyone is excited for, to spend time with their grandparents and show them around the school.

“It’s a really nice time to spend time with your grandparents to show how much you appreciate them because family is the most important thing,” said Junior Megan Dean.

At All School Worship the whole school comes together to celebrate grandparents and show your appreciation for them. The Kindergarten students have a special opportunity to go up on stage and sing a song to their grandparents.

“I enjoy the Kindergarten grandparents’ song tradition, while also getting to watch the relationship between the kids and their grandparents. Being a grandparent myself I feel I have a better perspective for them. It is an all around fun PCA event that brings around different generations,” said Kindergarten Teacher Robyn Pryor.

The relationship between a grandparent and a grandchild is truly special. Even though some grandparents aren’t able to come to Grandparent’s Day it is still important to show them some appreciation.

“I am excited to call my Grandma, who lives in Georgia, and tell her how much I love her and how amazing she is,” said Junior Ryleigh Cooper.

When grandparents live far away and cannot come to Grandparent’s Day, they love to send letters to their grandchildren to let them know they love them.

“I look forward to receiving a nice letter from my grandparents on Grandparent’s day,” said Senior Ben Bower.

Our own PCA staff is blessed to have grandchildren that attend PCA, and can participate in the Grandparent’s Day Tradition.

“I’ve attended Grandparent’s Day as a staff member for the past 26 years, but I love being able to now experience it as a PCA grandparent to Emma (1st Grade) and Ava (PK4),” said Events Coordinator Mrs. Julie Pyle.

Grandparent’s Day is a special event that everyone can enjoy from All School Worship to lunch with your grandparents to everyday appreciation for them.

“This year’s Grandparent’s day is extra special. I now have four grandchildren and one is already roaming the halls of PCA. PCA is a school that is rich with tradition and is truly a school for generations of families. I’m blessed that God has seen fit to have my family all here,” said Lower School Principal Mrs. Jan Jeffcoat.

God has blessed the grandparents of this school by allowing a full day to show them love and being able to share the love of God with them as well.
