As November rolls in, a sense of gratitude begins to permeate the air, culminating in one of the most cherished holidays: Thanksgiving. This season invites us to reflect on what we’re thankful for, and it serves as a reminder of the importance of appreciation in our lives, both personally and within our community.
Cultivating Gratitude
Gratitude has been shown to foster positivity, improve mental health, and strengthen relationships. In a world that often focuses on challenges and stressors, taking time to acknowledge what we appreciate can create a profound shift in our outlook. As we prepare for Thanksgiving, let’s hear what some PCA students have to say about thankfulness and its impact on their lives.
Sophomore Emily Taylor shared, “I’m really thankful for my friends and family. They support me through everything, especially when school gets tough.” Emily’s perspective highlights how gratitude can enhance our relationships, reminding us to value the people who stand by us.
A Season of Sharing
Thanksgiving is not only about reflecting on what we have but also about sharing with others. As we gather around the dinner table, let’s remember those in our community who may be less fortunate.
Eleventh Grader Chris Fu expressed his thoughts on giving back: “I think it’s important to help others, especially during Thanksgiving. My family volunteers at the local shelter, and it feels good to know we’re making a difference.”
Gratitude in Action
At PCA, gratitude extends beyond personal reflections. The Future Problem Solvers program, which recently kicked off its season, showcases students’ abilities to address real-world issues collaboratively. These students are not only honing their problem-solving skills but also learning to appreciate the strengths of their peers.
Junior Timothy Mei noted, “Being part of FPS has taught me to appreciate everyone’s input. It’s amazing how different ideas can come together to create something meaningful.”
A Final Thought
In the spirit of the season, let’s embrace thankfulness not just as a fleeting thought but as a lasting practice. As we gather with friends and family, let’s celebrate not only the food on our tables but also the relationships and opportunities that enrich our lives. This November, let’s make gratitude a priority and carry its spirit into the holiday season and beyond
