National Signing Day for Athletes Playing at the Next Level
Sign+me+up%21

National signing day is one of the most exciting days of the school year. Students are able to celebrate their classmates who are competing in their sport at the next level. During activity period on Wednesday, the student body gathers to watch their peers sign a commitment to their school and sport.

Competing in a sport at the next level is an extremely hard thing to accomplish. Taking a moment for those students who are making a commitment to their school is a way that the whole school can convey their congratulations.

Figuring out which school is the best fit for an athlete is an extremely important and hard thing to do.

Senior Maguire Martin said, “I ended up choosing Air Force football because it seemed like the best fit for my goals and future.”

Making sure that the school chosen fits the athletes overall goals for the future is undoubtedly one of the most important things about signing.

Playing at the next level can be a hard and stressful thing to do.

Senior Carter Stoutmire said, “although playing Division 1 football will be hard, the team will have a lot of fun and get to know each other as family.”

Juggling academics and sports is a challenge, and the support of teammates is imperative.

Overall, national signing day is a great way to celebrate classmates and their achievement in playing their sport at the next level. As all the students come together during activity period that Wednesday, it shows the support of the student body to their peers.
