Browsing Through Book Fair

Middle and Lower School Students Browse the Book Fair To Find Their Next Book
Browsing+Through+Book+Fair

The annual Book Fair is an event that students from Lower and Middle school look forward to. During the class before heading to the Book Fair, students excitedly talk about which book they want or which books they recommend to their friends. This is a sweet time for the kids to bond over books even before shopping at the Book Fair.

The Book Fair is made for students to be able to purchase books they have interest in and at the same time, raise money to further expand the library. Students have the ability to browse through the library and pick out the most appealing books.

Middle School Librarian Mrs. Cathy Madden said, “I believe the significance of the book fair is that the students have a reason to go off their devices and read the books they purchase, something that I personally believe is the most important thing for them.”

Mrs. Madden shares what genre of books is the most popular and liked by the girls and the boys.
She said, “The girls love to browse in the DIY section of books, and the boys, of course love the sports related books. Recently, many boys have purchased “The Wing Feather Saga” by Andrew Peterson, I believe it’s the most popular one right now.”

This event allows students to get excited about something besides their phone and social media, which is something special parents and teachers love to see and hear. Through the Book Fair, students have an opportunity to branch out and expand their knowledge, while the libraries also get to expand their range of books, so in the end, it’s a win-win. We cannot wait for the 2023 Book Fair coming soon.
