Extending Our PCA Family

New Students share their experience of what is like to be new at PCA
Extending Our PCA Family

It’s difficult being a new student but here at PCA everyone feels welcome. PCA is open to new students by having summer socials and after school activities like Midweek held through Prestonwood Baptist Church. New students can also spend time with current students through different sports, clubs, or outside activities.

Since new students transfer from large public schools or small homeschools, being here at PCA is a huge transition. While there are many different groups here at PCA, the students here are all welcoming.

Freshman Laira Singer said, “Since it’s a small school, everyone knows each other and everyone is welcome at PCA.”

While talking with past students who were new their freshman year, most all of the students felt welcome. The teachers do a great job at making sure every new student feels comfortable and loved. All the students agree that getting involved here at PCA is the best way to get to know the current students.

Sophomore Peyton Whitmarsh said, “When I walked through the doors on the first day I felt a warm welcome from all the students and everyone was so nice.”

Most of the new students are talented in different sports. Some fall sports go through the summer, so the students have time to connect with current students.

Dellaney Walls said, “People introducing themselves to me and [then] starting a sport in the summer also helps so you can come to school knowing people.” .

Even though being a new student is not easy, PCA does an amazing job at welcoming them all in with open arms.
