On January 20 and 21, the speech and debate team competed at the Prosper High School Speech Tournament. Friday found our MS debaters, Bryson Frank, Brianna Devadoss and Justin Perrit (first time debater), going head to head with high school students in Congressional debate. Along with our US debater, Paloma Minshew-Diaz, all four of them endured a three hour round of debating against very experienced high school debaters and held their own. Even though we didn’t prevail in that debate, we did in the Saturday Individual Interp Events. Three of our students, MS – Courtney Brooks (prose interp) and US – Gaby Goonetilleke and Katie Kittredge (duo interp) started early and showed why they came – to win!  Courtney in her first ever competition made it to semifinals and Gaby and Katie won third place in duo. We are very proud of these girls and the debate team! Way to go!
