Friday Night Lights delivered another unforgettable game as the Prestonwood Christian Academy Lions narrowly defeated Parish Episcopal 52-49 in a high-scoring contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
In this game, both teams showcased their offensive firepower, but it was PCA’s dynamic playmakers who ultimately made the difference. Junior quarterback Luke Glass had an impressive performance, completing 17 of 24 passes for 304 yards and throwing two touchdowns, earning a passer rating of 141.0.
Glass found his favorite targets in junior wide receiver Matthew McClain, who stood out with five receptions for 187 yards, averaging an astounding 37.4 yards per catch, and JC French-Love, who also made a significant impact with five catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns. McClain’s explosive playmaking was highlighted by a long reception of 91 yards.
The ground game was equally effective, with junior running back Lj Taylor carrying the ball 36 times for 221 yards and scoring one touchdown.
On the defensive side, PCA’s efforts were led by sophomore linebacker Joshua Bengard, who led the team with 9 tackles. Senior defensive lineman Jack Harwell contributed with one tackle for loss, while junior Eddie Brownstein added a critical sack. To seal the victory, senior defensive back Enzo Bingham intercepted a pass in the closing moments.
With this victory, the PCA Lions improve to 7-2 overall and hold a strong 4-1 record in district play, now ranking second in their district. Next Friday, they play Trinity Christian away in Addison.
