Fall tennis has just recently been added to the list of fall sports. This star-studded tennis team is very excited for this new up and coming season. Your Prestonwood Lions tennis team has been asking for fall tennis for a very long time and feels extremely rewarded now that they have it.
Junior standout captain Aidan Petrof says that the addition of fall tennis affects the morale of the team in a variety of positive ways. His words are, “We feel better about ourselves because we are putting in more effort. It also really helps us prepare for spring tennis as well.”
Aidan Petrof is a strong leader on this team and his words truly reflect the team’s emotions towards the addition of fall tennis.
Freshman Claire Untersee had to say that the main difference between fall and spring tennis is there i, “A lot more practice”. The fall season has a more practice-focused schedule to mentally and physically prepare themselves for the spring.
Sophomore Ashley Otken says she is most looking forward to, “Bonding with her friends”. Friendship is one of the best parts of Prestonwood sports and the tennis team demonstrates that to the highest level.
In the end, the addition of fall tennis to the fall sports list is a morale boost for the team, an extra emphasis on practice to prepare for the spring, and lastly, a bonding experience where the athletes can experience fellowship and bonding with one another.
This team finished second place in the district last year and they are hoping that with the extra practice the team is doing in the fall, they can secure a district championship in the spring. With the talent on this roster and the addition of fall tennis can truly push them over the edge to achieve whatever goals they set for themselves.
