You may be wondering who sings the national anthem at the home football games. The singers behind the mic are the “PCA singers,” led by Joel Rutherford, upper school choir director.
When asked the question “What is your favorite part about singing the national anthem, Senior Abby Penny said, “My favorite part of singing the national anthem was getting the opportunity to sing on lower school night at the football game.”
Junior Blake Dunham said, “I love being able to honor our country and what it was built upon through true gifts God has given me.”
Senior Grace Hennington said, “My favorite part of singing the national anthem is getting to watch Ron (the announcer), and all the crew members in the booth do their thing before I sing.”
In each game, one person in Prestonwood’s choir is selected to sing the national anthem. This is a great way for students to connect with their country, and show pride in their country. Using the talents that God has given them to honor our country and glorify God.
