Ever wonder what the little kiddos are up to these days during their field trip time at school? Well, look no further, as I dive into the cute and fluffy annual Build-A-Bear activity for the Kindergarten students.
The Build-A-Bear Field trip is a tradition at PCA where Kindergarten students would go to Stonebriar Mall and visit the store location. Due to Covid in 2020, it was switched to a classroom based activity to do this virtually. Kindergarten students will do this activity from morning time until lunchtime. It’s been a special tradition at PCA for many years, and it began because of the Bible Curriculum. With the Build-A-Bear Field Trip, the children get to name their bear just as God named us because we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Kindergarten teacher, Dr. Robyn Pryor said, “We took a lot of the things Build-A-Bear workshop does and the most important part of this project is when the children promise to take good care of their bear and say ‘I chose you,’ it represents how we talk about us because God chose us to be a part of His Kingdom.”
The Kindergarten students’ Build-A-Bear experience is impactful on how the teachers teach them at a young age that they are wonderfully and fearfully made by the Lord. It provides a sense of purpose and it is just a sweet activity from school to take the time to remind the students how special they are.
