Every year, new students walk in to PCA for the first time. As a student body, creating a warm environment for all new students is key. Today, we interviewed new students about what they like, and what they would wish to change about PCA.
PCA Junior, Noelle Brenning said, “I have really enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends, out of all of my teachers, I would have to say Mrs. Compton is my favorite teacher.” She feels like Mrs. Compton relates with her the most, and helps her grow both academically and and spiritually.
Having a teacher where you are able to be honest with and discuss what is on your mind is key to success inside a new school. Especially when you may not knwo anyone who is around you.
Sophomore Panashe Madziyire said, “I have enjoyed these first few days at PCA, everybody is very welcoming and I feel like I can be myself with others.” He especially enjoys out of school lunch with fellow classmates.
PCA loves to welcome all people, with their international program growing every year. Resources are offered to create an equal environment for everyone who desires to come. Although some policies may be new for some students, the adjustment is easy and effective. It is very easy to find a friend group that fits for you.
Next time you see a new student in the hall, take time out of your day to welcome them and make sure that they feel like they belong.
