As the end of the 2023-24 school year is rapidly approaching, many Seniors wonder what is next for their lives. For some it will be going straight into the work field, some will take a gap year, and some will go to college in hopes of pursuing an undergraduate degree.
However, going to a college or university can be quite expensive and might be a deciding factor on whether students can attend or not. Thankfully, these schools offer scholarships to qualified students to help them decrease their attendance costs.
Senior Dominic Campbell said, “I plan to attend Baylor University majoring in pre-medicine. Scholarships have truly helped my family and the opportunity to make Baylor University a possibility.”
Most scholarships require an application and sometimes a short essay asking a prompt, such as why the student believes he or she is deserving of the scholarship. Although these universities’ scholarships are great and very beneficial, they can be quite competitive and often have deadlines which might restrict some students from being able to acquire them.
This sounds intimidating and stressful for many, but don’t worry there are millions of dollars in scholarships outside of the ones from the universities.
