Incoming freshmen, are you scared of entering freshman year of high school?
Well, don’t worry as everyone above you has been through that same experience, and it is not nearly as bad as you would imagine. Seek wisdom and advice from these people, and you will not regret it.
Although it can seem to be intimidating, there’s plenty of things that you can look forward to. Just a few examples are incredible events including Homecoming, Texas Stomp, and Prom once you’re a junior and senior. In the midst of all this fun, you need to make sure you keep yourself disciplined and get through all your homework and studying first. Your academics during freshman year and all of high school may shift your future in various ways.
Senior Sloan Freeman shares her academic advice to get through high school, especially your freshman year and said, “I would recommend for you to not procrastinate at all and don’t wait till the day before your test to study. You really don’t want to fall behind as it can be stressful.”
Along with Sloan’s advice for academics, another Senior talks about seeking advice from older students.
Senior Kesler Woolley said, “I would say that underclassmen, specifically freshman, need to be open-minded and reach out to upperclassmen for advice, then of course actually take that advice and put it into action.”
Coming into high school some may feel that they have everything together and some may feel like they have no clue what’s going on. No matter which of the two you are, take into account the advice that these two have shared with you, and additionally, try to reach out to others for help when you need it. It is a great year, so make the most of it and look forward to the amazing 4 years ahead.
