Senior year is filled with so many activities, it is only right to open up with a Senior Retreat. The Seniors start off their week going to Sky Ranch a day earlier than the underclassmen where they are able to get closer as a grade. They spend that day and a half preparing to welcome the underclassman in order for them to have a retreat right after. Once the Seniors spend their night at Sky Ranch, they then travel to San Antonio where they can start their real Senior Retreat.
For many people, Senior retreat is the highlight of their Senior year. This retreat is so much different than the regular Sky Ranch retreat. It is also nice to be able to spend a couple days with your classmates because you get to know them. Senior Claire Moye says, “I enjoyed spending time with my classmates and getting to know them better.” That is the whole point of the retreat, to get to know your classmates. Getting to know your classmates helps to be able to grow as a class throughout the year. It is especially important for new kids because this gives them the opportunity to meet all the people in their grade.
In the Senior retreat there were a lot of activities that everyone could do. Senior Zoe Emeka says, “My favorite activity was tubing because I enjoyed being in the river and I had a great time. Going tubing in the river is one of the traditions on the retreat. It is a fun way to relax and enjoy time with your friends. The Senior retreat is not required for every Senior to go on, but it is work going. Senior Asa Miller says, “I would definitely recommend this retreat to all the upcoming Seniors because it’s a ride of passage.” It is the final year of high school, try to do everything.
If one is still unsure about the trip, ask the current Senior questions. Senior Kesler Woolley “Be involved and branch out because this is your last year of high school and you should make the most of it.” They will even tell you necessary things that you will need. Asa says, “I recommend bringing water and cash because you will be very thirsty and want to buy everything you see because everything in San Antoine is worth buying.
Once high school ends, there are going to be many memories that were created throughout those four years. The Senior Retreat will be something that people will remember for many years. Lots of people that have been going to this school have not even met all the people that are in their grade so this gives them the opportunity to get closer to them.
