One of the most important quarters of the year is the first quarter. It is so important to make sure that all of your work is done well and that your grades are good so that you do not have to play catch up in the second quarter.
Sometimes when you play a sport it can be hard to balance your sport and your academics, but if you manage your time, it should work. Senior Volleyball player Autumn Smith says, “Check MyPca and complete the assignment the day it is given.” It is important to get your homework done as soon as possible so that it is easy for you to put your time into other things.
It is very important to get to know your teachers because this makes it easier to talk to them. Senior Mimo Olowu says, “Stay on top of your work and make sure anytime you are confused go talk to your teachers before or after school because they can be really helpful.” Your teachers are there to help you and they want the best for you. In the first quarter you have to go out with a bang. You should start out good so that you do not have to worry about your grade in the future.
Senior Kennedy Washington says, “Do all your work and try to take like five to ten minutes to study everyday.” When you take out this time to study it makes it easier to retain the information rather than cramming it all the night before. It is very hard to retain information when you have crammed it all the night before. When you take that time out everyday to study, you will be able to remember it more. As long as you take the time to study and get help when you need it, you should be ready to conquer the first quarter.
