Middle School: Week of Monday, December 9th – Friday, December 13th

This Week Character Quality: Perseverance – Doing a job when it gets tougher than expected –  1 Corinthians 16:3  Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

Advent Week Two: Candle of Peace – Peace begins with a relationship with God, and it continues as we focus on His strength and allow Him to fill us. We can exchange our weakness for His strength in any area of life. God’s Word says, “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is focused on You because He trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3).

7/8 Grade Digital Citizenship – Your digital citizenship course on Canvas is now open. All students need to accept the course before the holiday break, do not delete! This course is required by PCA, and every 7th-12th Grade student is required to complete this course as soon as possible. Please know this is self-paced. If you are having trouble getting into the course, please come to the Upper School Library, and Mrs. Towle can help you.

ACSI District Speech Meet Registration is Open -The ACSI District Speech Meet will be here before we know it! This competition is open to students in Grades 1-6 and is a great way for students to showcase their public speaking skills. Students compete at an In-House meet in late January with others in their grade level and category for the opportunity to advance to the District competition on FEBRUARY 21, held at our own Prestonwood Baptist Church campus in Plano. PARENTS CAN REGISTER THROUGH myPCA by clicking on COMMUNICATION ARTS > ACSI SPEECH MEET. Links for each grade level registration as well as resource links for titles and ideas for pieces are available as well.

DATE: PLANO Fifth-Sixth Grade: JANUARY 23, 2020 – Information regarding the speech meet is available on the ACSI Speech Meet topic found under your parent group (for example, Groups, NCMS Parents 5th). Look for the ACSI Speech Meet topic board under topics in your parent group.
