Red Ribbon Week This week is our annual Red Ribbon Week focusing on our theme, Building a Healthy Foundation. We have great things planned as we continue to address these topics regarding living holy and pleasing Christian lives. All students are welcome to wear red shirts with their jeans on Friday, October 11th.
Registration for Math Olympics Registration for the ACSI In-House Math Olympics are open. The In-House meets are an opportunity for students to compete for the opportunity to represent PCA at the District and Area levels in the areas of computation and reasoning. Complete details regarding the meets and dates for testing for each campus and grade level can be found on the Competitions resource board of myPCA. Registration will close on Tuesday, October 15. For questions, please contact Mrs. Dysart in the Curriculum Office email at [email protected] or call 972-930-4015.
Fitnessgram Fall 2019:Beginning the week of Monday, October 14th, 2019, the third through sixth graders will be taking the Fitnessgram Test. This is a fitness test designed to show a healthy fitness zone for your students in the areas of strength, flexibility, and aerobic capacity. The Fitnessgram consists of 5 tests: the 20-meter pacer, curl-ups, pushups, shoulder stretch, and trunk lift. Results will be sent home before the end of the semester. This test was designed by Dr. Kenneth Cooper and the Cooper Fitness Institute. This is not a pass/fail test but rather a marker to indicate to you where your child’s health and fitness rank in relation to their peer group. The students have practiced the tests, and they are ready to go. The girls may wear their black, white, or saddle oxfords tennis shoes. If students choose to bring other running shoes, they can change into them in the gym and change back before they head back to class. They may not wear non-approved running shoes all day. Our young ladies should wear modesty shorts under their jumpers or skirts.
Minimester: 5 -8 gradeMinimesters are posted on grade-level topic boards on myPCA. The first payment is due on October 15th.
