Announcements – December 3, 2018

LUNCH – honey baked ham; chicken nuggets

Please join Varsity tennis coach Donna Smith during lunch in the SLC today to sign up and get information for the upcoming tennis season.

 

This past weekend saw the speech and debate team make their presence known again! Bryson Frank, our resident state bound Congressional debater wowed them in Domestic Extemp taking 2nd place and qualifying for state in that event. Katie Kittredge, who already qualified for state in Informative speaking took home 3rd place in said event and in turn received her final bid for NIETOC (National Individual Events Tournament of Champions) where she will compete in May in Nebraska. Geronimo Dominguez advanced to semi-finals in Impromptu speaking while still competing in Congressional debate. Congratulations to the PCA Speech and Debate team.

 

Tomorrow, we will be having our SLi Fall Awards Breakfast.  All 9th-12th grade SLi students are invited to attend to celebrate the grade level presentation winners.  We will be serving a light breakfast.  Please come to the Horner Training Center at 9:15 am.

 

Announcements – December 4, 2018

LUNCH – shrimp fried rice; thai beef

Congratulations to our students who qualified for the Incentive Program for Quarter 1 for maintaining a 90 or above in all classes and no major infractions.  These students will have a spirt dress week (jeans and PCA t-shirt) next week, December 3-7th, with the exception of Thursday, please wear Chapel attire.  Students will be recognized on Friday during Activity Period (9:15-9:55am) in the Library with Donuts with Mrs. Morris.  Congratulations Students and Job Well Done!

 

Thank you students for a great response to our Operation Christmas Child project.  We met and exceeded our goal and students 9-12 will get the privilege of wearing  red/green or Christmas sweaters with jeans on Friday, December 7th.   A huge thank you for blessing the lives of many children this Christmas season!

 

PCA’s Theatre 3 will present the “Night of One Acts” in the theatre room tonight at 7 pm.   Come and support these student directors!  Admission is free.

 

Congratulations to PCA’s ITS troupe who recently attended the Texas Thespian State Festival and competed in various individual events.   They qualified for nationals with superior ratings in monologue, solo musical, duet musical, small group musical, large group musical and scenic design.   They will compete at nationals at the University of Nebraska in June.

Thank you students for a great response to our Operation Christmas Child project.  We met and exceeded our goal and students 9-12 will get the privilege of wearing  red/green or Christmas sweaters with jeans on Friday, December 7.   A huge thank you for blessing the lives of many children this Christmas season!

 If you are interested in auditioning for the spring musical, Mary Poppins, please pick up an audition packet at the front desk.  Auditions are in January.  See Ms. Hurt with any questions.

There will be a STEM Honors Program meeting this Friday, Dec. 7 during activity period in the Horner.  All STEM Honors members are required to attend this meeting.

Next Monday, December 10th,  we will continue the PCAplus 10 year anniversary celebration with MS and US teachers, staff, and students being able to wear their PCAplus 10 Year Anniversary t-shirt and jeans.  Please join us by wearing the 10 year Anniversary T-Shirt!
