There are many people who keep the lower school running smoothly, one of the hard working people that keeps all students PRE-K 3 through 4th grade healthy is Nurse Janet. Nurse Janet has been working as the Lower School nurse for 24 years since 2001, serving decades of students with health care and as an encouragement. 

Nurse Janet does several different things for students’ health and well being whether it’s a bandaid or checking their vision she is serving others with a happy heart. Nurse Janet explains some of her daily tasks, “ My job includes immunization records, documents for them to be at school and have them be safe at school, especially being careful with allergies.” Working with kids as young as three is not always easy having to ensure their safety at their young age, their youth making them more easily injured or affected by outside factors. 

Nurse Janet loves working with the kids creating personal relationships with each student and connecting to the students through her service. The Lower School Nurse stated, “ The thing that makes PCA so special is the kids are so sweet. They truly appreciate me and know me personally, letting me have a personal relationship with them.” Nurse Janet is able to do what she loves, helping others in their health while also forming intentional relationships with all of the students and staff at the Lower School.

Although she enjoys all aspects of her job she does have a favorite part. Nurse Janet says “My favorite part of my job is how funny the kids are, they are so honest with me and I can have fun with them and it gives me the chase to be a kid at work”. Nurse Janet has a joyful spirit and is allowed to share that as a ministry to those around her! She has served PCA well and has been a loyal and impactful nurse for the lower school.
