Prestonwood Christian Academy’s football team, the Lions, has a brand-new home field. The school just finished a major project, putting in a new turf field. This change is a big upgrade for the team and the whole football program.
Junior Tyler Shaw said, “It’s much safer and feels like I’m playing on grass.”
This focus on safety is a key part of the new field’s design. The turf is designed to be softer and more forgiving than older surfaces, which can help reduce the risk of injuries.
Junior Landan Hollins said, “I like how the turf is soft and won’t give you turf burns when you fall on it.” The field’s smooth, soft surface is a major plus for the players.
Although the new turf is soft, it does require a slight adjustment for some players.
Senior Eddie Brownstein said, “I like the new turf. It’s a lot softer, but it’s a little bit more slippery, so I have to wear longer cleats.”
This small adjustment is worth it for all the big improvements. The new field gives the Lions a better, safer, and more modern place to practice and play their games.
