The PCA Robotics team is starting up again for the school year! Students in all years of high school are able to be on a team to discuss and compete in areas of robotics that they are passionate about. Through months of researching and preparing for competition, the team made it to state last year and is hoping to make it all the way to worlds this year. Though it is a small group of students, the robotics team is a highly competitive team and focused on specific areas of interest that students enjoy and thrive in.
President Timothy Mei said, “We expanded the team from 8 to 14 students and made it to state last year,m; there are now two teams, and we have received a generous donation for the team this year.”
While not every student has the role of president, there are lots of new students interested in it this year.
Senior Jennifer Yang said, “I am most looking forward to competing with my friends and seeing other teams and their own ideas at competitions.”
Other students are invested in specific projects and areas of research.
Senior Hector Zhi said, “I found engineering cool and useful for the future, and I am also excited that my friends are in it with me.”
The robotics team is an exciting opportunity for students interested in engineering and technology in the field of robotics. Students meet outside of school to create, brainstorm, and prepare for competitions and events. The team is a highly rewarding experience, and students are encouraged to use their creativity and interests to help better the team and do their best in competitions!
