A great way to start off the Upper School years is to experience the annual retreat at Sky Ranch. Students are whisked away overnight for a whirlwind of activities including worship, friendship, and bonding time with friends and staff.
Retreat traditions are set in middle school and continue as students grow up. Upper School continues the tradition as Freshmen get to encounter new retreat adventures. New perspectives are established and lifelong friendships are made. From waterslides to ziplining through the treetops, many options exist to choose from to spend time at Sky Ranch.
Whether you are ordering ice cream at Sky Cafe, or walking around with friends, Sky Ranch never gets boring. Freshman Stella Smith said, “I was excited to make memories with my friends.”
So much fun is had that sleep is usually on the last of the priorities. “I only got 4 hours of sleep because I was having so much fun,” said Freshman Brody Pavelka.
Previous students who have attended Upper School Retreat expressed the heartwarming feeling of the worship. The message of the songs moved through the students.
“The worship recentered my relationship with the Lord going into the school year,” said Freshman Anna Kate Phegley.
In addition to all of the fun that was had, many students look forward to the “Sky Store” and the Sky Cafe at Sky Ranch.
Freshman Elli Kim said, “I liked the gift shop, I bought a sweater and lots of food for the roadtrip home.”
