The Lions’ fall golf season is officially here, with the first tournament scheduled for September 16th. The Lions are preparing for a promising run, and players are focusing on specific goals to improve their performance and achieve personal bests.
Junior Preston Nguyen said, “I want to improve my putting this off-season, and I am excited to play with my teammates this year.”
Highlighting an important area for scoring improvements. Mastering the short game is often the difference between a good round and a great one, and Nguyen’s focus on the green could be a major factor for his team’s success.
Senior Joey Gosa said, “My favorite part of golf is my coach, Mr. Chong, who guides me on and off the course.”
This mentorship provides valuable lessons in discipline and perseverance, which are just as vital as any swing. By working on fall golf, students are getting ready to get a head start on spring golf. Hopefully, fall golf will prepare our Lions to play on the collegiate level.
Senior Blake Dinkins said, “I want to shoot my personal best this off-season and improve a lot on my driving.”
A powerful and accurate drive is a key skill; focusing on it could lead to more successful rounds for him and his teammates. The commitment of these senior leaders will be key to the team's overall performance. The combination of individual goals and strong team guidance sets the stage for an exciting season, beginning soon on the green.
