With prom season approaching, Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) is working to make the night unforgettable—and it’s not just about finding the perfect outfit. Behind the scenes, a mix of schoolwide fundraising programs and community-driven events are working together to help cover the costs and enhance the experience for students.
While prom doesn’t have a single dedicated fundraiser, PCA’s broader giving initiatives help make it all possible. The PCA Fund, for example, accepts donations of any amount through credit cards, wallets, or direct debit, and supports immediate needs across the school, including student events like prom.
In addition, ROAR for Success—a program that helps fund sports teams, clubs, and special student activities—often includes fundraisers that indirectly support prom-related needs. Whether it’s a club selling merchandise or a team hosting an event, the funds raised often contribute to the student experience as a whole.
PCA also accepts in-kind gifts, where families and businesses donate goods or services rather than money. For prom, this might mean someone donating floral arrangements, photography, or discounted event services to help lower overall costs.
Some families and supporters use matching gifts from their employers to double their contributions, which is a simple but powerful way to give back. Others may participate in planned giving, which supports everything from operations to special events and long-term investments in student life.
Community-wide events like Homecoming Week, Texas Stomp, and the Junior-Senior Banquet don’t raise money directly for prom but create an environment of celebration and student involvement that feeds into the excitement of prom season.
One of the school’s largest fundraising nights, the Zig Ziglar Servant Leadership Award Dinner, brings in generous donations that support a wide range of PCA programs, many of which benefit the student body and special events like prom.
Through these combined efforts, PCA ensures that prom is not just a night of fun, but a celebration of community support and school spirit.
