While some sports teams allow all players to join a team, many teams have tryouts. This cut-throat system only lets the best to compete for the Lions. On the contrary, spring baseball allows all students to participate on the junior varsity team, creating an equal opportunity for all.
Junior Cruz Bañuelas said, “Prestonwood Baseball allows all students to participate, we look forward to all of the talent that is brought by joining the team.”
PCA requires every student to have a sport credit, which typically consists of two years of a sport. Many other teams, however, only play varsity, cutting many players to create a small but talented team.
Freshman Nicholas Leach said, “The tennis team is exciting since we all have a varsity experience, just from a few weeks of playing, I really enjoy it.”
Similar to the PCA soccer team, the tennis team is a varsity only sport. It is different from many other sports, as the team is smaller and skill transfers each year. This is much different from the track and field team, which has a very large amount of players each year. Players still practice and focus on working as a team, but the races are played individually.
If you are interested in receiving a sport credit this year, joining one of these teams is a great idea. All coaches are interested in finding new players and watching their skill grow.
